Welcome
My practice is built around providing counseling with Neurofeedback to adults and adolescents. I believe therapy can be tremendously beneficial in many ways, but particularly in offering an opportunity to look at life experiences and difficulties within an environment that emphasizes a strong, appropriate, and trusting relationship between client and therapist.
My goal within this relationship is always to help clients come to a greater understanding of themselves and the underlying (and usually not obvious or even consciously connected) basis behind actions and decisions. This leads to positive change and can occur at any stage in one’s life. I offer a wide range of services, specializing in psychotherapy and neurofeedback, providing treatment for:
ADD/ADHD
Anger and Violence
Anxiety and Depression
Chronic Pain
Head Injury
Sleep Disorders
Neurofeedback, also known as EEG biofeedback, neurotherapy, and brain training, is a section of Biofeedback. Biofeedback is a method of gaining information by monitoring blood pressure, skin temperature, brain waves, heart rate, and other body conditions to help encourage control over typically involuntary bodily processes through conditioning, also called operant conditioning and relaxation.
Neurofeedback is an evidence-based, non-invasive, drug-free method of normalizing brain function and decreasing symptoms of many neurological disorders. Through this type of brain training, a person can alter his or her own brainwave characteristics by challenging the brain to learn to reorganize and by conditioning the brain to function better.
